MoneyGram - Too many hoops.
I used Walmart MoneyGram to send some money to a friend a couple of years ago with little drama. Tried to send some tonight, couldn't remember the password so I made a new account since I got a new email address.
The system asked 4 questions of which I knew 2. Didn't remember my ex-husband's birthday (married 2 years, divorced 21 years) and it asked if I owned a particular car. Right year, right model, wrong option package (super sport). So I had to call in.
Twenty questions later, the guy (foreign and a bit hard to understand) says I am good to go. I resubmit my info. Thirty minutes later I check back and the transfer has been denied. I call back in and they somehow hang up on my before I even talk to anyone.
The third call, I get a gal from the same country as the earlier guy. Twenty more questions including EXACTLY what I was buying. 'A tombstone'. 'What kind of stone?' 'A tombstone for a DEAD person.' 'Oh.' And where was I and WHY was I THERE??
Finally got the reference number. Won't use them again.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Location: La Grange, Texas
